She seems to give pretty odd questions… like last time she gave a question on product packaging and this time on restaurant breakfasts…
Well, you have a choice to answer or not. I couldn’t relate to her past questions so I didn’t answer them.
The recent one is ok, deals with unhealthy foods and products. I wonder what she does with the comments.
Well, it is consumer research. I would hope that it goes to companies that take the information seriously and make needed changes or push for proper legislature. And hey, for $100L, I will get up on my own soap box.
The compensation isn’t really much, but I guess it’s worth around 1 minute of time.
(lol) We can’t really complain. It takes about a minute to answer the questions and you get 100 lindens. I’d say 100 lindens for answering simple questions is too much, but I’m not the one giving out the lindens.
No it’s not really too much if you consider the amount of L they get from advertisements and their stores. 100 L can get you like 1/5 of a good outfit.
I answered her last question and happily received my L$100 a couple days later. I thought it was well worth it, but then I’m not exactly swimming in Lindens right now.
I agree with Suki Hirano… the question did seem a bit odd, but then I don’t know what kind of marketing research she’s doing, or for what purpose. But it was easy money and I plan on doing it again. As always, thanks for the tip Chino.

I did not find the questions a problem. Then again, I have a strong interest in the fields of Sociology and Psychology, which give me a background on some of the issues.
Consider part ‘b’ to November’s question, which deals with whether or not a parent should be punished for having a severely obese child. This may seem like a fairly obvious answer: yes, because it is the parent’s responsibility to care for the child, and at least by American standards, for such a wrong you should be jailed or fined. Yet the question does not present that many parents of obese children do not have the information nor the resources to provide their children with healthy food. McDonald’s targets the lower-class and poor, knowing that their products, which are exceptionally unhealthy, are one of the few hot meals that some families can afford. Should we punish people for something that is out of control?
The effects of punishment are also dwindling. Without the effort in reformation and focusing on punishment, prisoners are returning to society without the changes they are supposed to have. Likewise, will punishing a parent give them the skills they need to properly care for their children?
Anyways, simply some ‘food for thought’. I will definitely be participating in the future, and I have prodded a few of my friends.
Lol it sounds so similar to my law textbook. I guess it’s good preparation for writing short essays, as my teacher always gives odd topics… like the truthfulness of media, the legitimacy of trans-species experimentation, etc.
This is my sociology and pyschology learning applied; I also honestly enjoy odd questions. Call me nutters. And again, I hope it does go somewhere. My sociology department requires 101 students to do certain activities in order to get a grade, and one method is to participate in research studies. The questions can seem completely unrelated to the actual project, but I would presume that stems from the deep underlying meaning answers can provide.
The question may seem to have an obvious answer until you consider that parents cannot control what children eat when away from home. What about trading in the lunchroom at school, snacking at a neighbors house, snacks the babysitter prepares, etc. Parents can educate their children in how to make wise choices, but are the parents so much in control that they should be punished for the child’s obesity?
I would go so far to say that even clothes are not under control, not with how marketing and society are working these days. It seems so many parents (in America, at least) are more prone to giving into their child’s wants instead of dealing with tantrums or the like. Further, the wants of children are being shaped by what they see on TV (or the internet) rather than what their imagination really needs.
She never actually shows the comments on the site…Kinda makes you wonder huh. But its cool to offer the opinion too.
I think that if she shows them, her competitor will get the information for free.
BTW, I am baffled why does her site existed on a free blog host instead of getting her own website with specialized script. It could have made her site look more professional and made my people take her survey more seriously.
