I haven’t done this for quite a while but I think, how much I earn or make money in Second Life is important to some. (especially for those who wants to earn as much as I do :) ) So here’s how the month of making money and earning free lindens went for me.

Those Lovely Kimonos

I assume Artesia B is Japanese for almost everything in her blog is about Kimonos (well almost) and everything Japanese. It’s really nice to see another Asian (assuming she’s asian) doing good in Second Life through blogging. I am not really interested to Kimonos but my wife will definitely check Artesia B’s blog from time to time because of that.

Going back in time

When I first started my Second Life, I was a Victorian. Cynara and I always visit Caledon especially when buying Victorian Clothes. Also, Cynara works as a model for a Victorian Shop back then. Now this man, Dr. Rafael Fabre is one hell of a roleplayer and knows a lot through Steampunk era. Almost every post he have in his blog is about the period. (no off-topic posts at least) What impresses me most is his research skills (unless that is a fictional character) in terms of finding people who lived in the Victorian Period.

I also think that this interesting blog about Antiquity is from Dr. Rafael Fabre as well. So check them out.

One hell of a Machinima maker

I think I can still continue our machinima music video. Especially after seeing this blog of CodeBastard Redgrave. Her machinimas are great and most of the time featured in the SL Insider. She created a nice and user-friendly MachinimaCam to make your shooting a lot easier. So if you’re interested in making Machinimas just like I do, subscribe to her blog as well.

General SL Blog?

I really don’t know what’s the focus of this blog, Second Life Snippets. But they surely got my attention with this kind of Advertising (as they say) although I think of it as an attack. Another post that caught my attention is about SL’s Support. It feels good whenever people appreciate you with what you do. Why do I fell that way? I’ve been part of Level-Up games, an online game publisher here in our country, for 2 years and it’s a rare occasion that you’ll hear or read from someone that they appreciate what you’ve done. Moving on…

I didn’t know that!

This is not about that show from National Geographic Channel. It’s about a blogger’s community in SL. Yes! I’ve been encouraging people to blog about Second Life as a way for them to earn linden dollars and make money and finally, a blogger’s network for SL. Well, they don’t have their own domain yet and still hosted at Google Groups but most of all, I love it when people of the same interest will have a connection in some way. I didn’t even know that they meet. So kudos!

"Your money is all mine" - Bank

Written on September 26th, 2007 by Chino

When Banks in Second Life goes… well bankrupt, how will you be able to save all your money and linden dollars when there’s no insurance companies (well I don’t consider Rock Insurance as a reliable insurance company yet) just like in the First Life? The answer is, you can’t save those lindens you have in them since it will be too late.

Starting your own business

So you’ve got all those linden dollars for free. You bought yourself some nice clothes, a new shape (if you can’t create a good one) and the best skin for your style. Now what? You just don’t spend all your money all day for clothes, fashion or the gadgets you love.

Escort services and sex industry of Second Life will go down

Written on September 19th, 2007 by Chino

Everett Linden just posted about the identity verification in Second Life and with this refresher, I just can’t help but think of things that will be mostly hurt by this upcoming feature.

Bye bye to free sex

It’s everywhere and can be seen in the popular places search of SL. Of course, when the IDV kicks in, lots of people won’t be able to access those orgy and free sex areas especially those who are just new to Second Life. However, they will be able to access it if they will verify that they are 18 and above.

Robin Linden mentioned that the verification will be available at the account page when the feature leaves beta testing.

Escorts will become more valuable

Let’s face it, if everybody will be required to verify their age before accessing an Adult Only area or a Rated-R, then escorts will have lesser customers, thus, their price may go higher. (Law of Supply and Demand - of course, it may not be as applicable in SL) Another thing is, the population of escorts might go low since one reason why they become escorts is because they need big cash quick and the verification will slow them down especially those who don’t want to verify their age.

Second Life is not for minors

This is the point, there’s a TEEN version of Second Life for minors since the main SL is for 18 and above. This is mentioned all over the place by linden labs on the SL site so it’s not hard to miss.

Written on September 16th, 2007 by Chino

Today for something I stumbled upon in the web for making money in Second Life is a video from . They have bunch of building tutorials on their site but there’s one video that caught my interest, their tips on how do you make money in Second Life.

I actually learned something from it. Especially the First Land where you can buy cheap land from Linden Lab themselves for like 512sqm. for just 512L$ lindens. So instead of me babbling more about it, just check it out.
