Games that work with Windows 7

Written on January 22nd, 2009 by Chino

If you’re a gamer, there will always be this question in your mind whenever a new OS comes out..

Will my favorite work with this ?

To name a few, well, almost everything that works with Vista and XP will and definitely should work with Windows 7. However, not everybody knows that or does work with Windows 7.

What do I do if my game did not work with Win 7?

First is to run your game in compatibility mode.

Running your game in Vista or XP Sp2 mode will do.

What if running in compatibility mode did not solve the problem?

Right now, any game that has a GameGuard Hackshield on it, like most , has an issue with Windows 7. If changing the compatibility mode did not help, I suggest you wait for the official release of Windows 7.

This new OS is currently in its Beta1 stage and it will take a year to get it to the final version. Playing in Vista or XP is still currently the best thing to do.

Windows 7 Beta – FAQ

Written on January 9th, 2009 by Chino

January 7, 2009 – 6:30pm (PST), Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced that the public beta for Windows 7 will be available by January 9, 2009.

However, of course, as I write this entry, it’s only 2am of January 9 right now there in Microsoft. So for those who are asking information about the release of windows 7, here’s a FAQ for Windows 7 Public Beta Release today.

What time will the Windows 7 download be available?

The Public Beta Download will be available in the afternoon of January 9, 2009 (PST – Pacific Standard Time). To check the current time right now where Microsoft is located, go here. Just check for the Seattle Time Zone.

Where can I download Windows 7?

On January 9th (today), the Windows 7 Beta will be available for Windows enthusiasts to download via the Windows 7 page on Windows.com. The Windows 7 Beta is going to be available download-only and available for a limited time to the first 2.5 million people who download the beta.

I use Vista or XP, can I upgrade from there?

The Windows 7 Beta only supports Windows Vista SP1 to Windows 7 upgrades. So if you intend to do an upgrade – be sure it is on a PC running Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.

How about the requirements for Windows 7?

Simply put, if your PC can run Windows Vista, Windows 7 will run in it and even better.

Also, keep in mind that this is still a BETA software. It’s not advisable to use this as your main OS. Most of all, Windows 7 Beta will expire on August 1, 2009.
