Free Linden by First Opinions Panel, why some members doesn’t get survey from them

I’ve been asked by some people already why they don’t get or receive email from First Opinions Panel (SLURL)while others get twice monthly or receives the higher paying surveys (e.g. IBM Virtual Business Center Survey that gave 1500L$ and 12,000L$ for the interview.)

Real life location is a factor

This is the very main reason I think why some doesn’t get surveys from FOP in a regular basis. FOP releases survey based on the real-life company’s target market. If you are living in Asia but let’s say American Airlines ordered the survey, of course, the survey will be given to those who ONLY live in the US or those covered by American Airlines.

Answer the survey seriously

First Opinions gives you a survey for the first time, however, you are too lazy to answer it and you’ll get 500L$ to 1500L$ free linden anyway even if you answer it hastily and without really reading it… My friend, if you did that or plan to do that, FOP might not add you to their list anymore for the next survey. Real life companies pay big cash to get valuable opinions from Second Life residents, so make sure that your answers is worth the free linden dollars they will give you.

First Opinions Panel is a serious Market Research company. They’ve been doing surveys in real life even before Second Life existed. If you plan to get more than 500L$ to 1500L$ from them, make sure you take them seriously.

And I would like to add that even if you give true information, but you don’t make their profile, you wouldn’t get any money.

as long as you got a survey to fill up, they will pay you. but if you were not serious on the survey you just did, expect that they will not include you on the next.

I was definitely serious about my answers for the joining survey. I like the fact that they’re actually offering anything just to hear your opinion. That’s pretty nice.

Maybe my answers don’t fit any surveys they’re putting out. Or I’m impatient. I don’t know. I hope I get something soon.

Yes, if you don’t match the criteria their client set up then you won’t be invited! It’s not about being serious, it’s more on you matching the criteria set by their client.

With this kind of set up, members who belong to the upper class get selected in high profile surveys. So, if you are not earning this much and your professional or educational level isn’t high enough then don’t expect high paying surveys.

It’s not FOP’s fault. It’s their client who set the standards.

Well, I knew that it wasn’t just about being serious… and that a lot more of it depends on the area that they place you.

I wasn’t blaming anyone either, if you’re saying that to me…

LOL! I didn’t say that you blame them I just said it’s not their fault. In fact I don’t get e-mails from them too maybe because of my financial and social status. I’m just a minimum wage worker and that’s what I said in the registration survey. :)

Agree with cammy and haryja. It is the profile they are looking for, not how serious you answer that. I think what chino means is that companies prefer honest answers. But survey are just inanimated things. It’s possible to cheat as it is just mostly mcqs

Sorry, I tend to get easily defensive.

I understand though. My own status and such is fairly unlikely to fit their profiles. I think I’m only sad and cranky that that’s the case (so, it might make me act out a little). ^^;;

Even if your not interested in sharing your deep and dark secrets so to speak, you can still speak honestly about a subject or give some insight as to how it makes you feel. This insight is the very information they need to make the survey worthwhile.
Not a ton of information, but some great return ;)
