Free place to live, Alady Island offers free apartment rentals
It may sound too good to be true, but it is not too good to be true… IT IS TRUE! I could not believe what I saw at first, so I had to teleport there and see it for myself after searching for more free stuff in Second Life. This is a review for more free lindens and free stuff in Second Life.
What is Alady Island?
Alady Island is actually a body shop mall, yes it’s a mall with camping, and those sploders where you can get free lindens. I myself did not intend to drop by to Alady Island for the free apartment, I first went there because it says on their classifieds “HIGH PAY CAMPING”. Of course I don’t want to believe that since almost all camping out there doesn’t pay high but I had to check to confirm. Unfortunately, the camping there really doesn’t pay high. Although, there is something more than the high pay camping they promised, it’s the free apartment rentals.
Despite the number of people and traffic Alady Island has, it is not as laggy as the other islands offering camping and such free offerings. Go to Alady Island here. (SLURL)
How’s the free apartment?
Just find an apartment here that doesn’t have anyone in it and its yours for as long as you stay in it, no need to join groups. IF A APARTMENT HAS SOMEONE IN IT THEN FIND ONE THAT DOESNT. YOU CAN COME BACK EACH DAY AND HAVE A APARTMENT.
no prims allowed apartments are furnished already.
NO RUDE BEHAVIOR PLEASE IF ANYONE ACTS UP IM ME I WILL BOOT AND BAN THEM - IM TRACEY SASSOON THEIR NAME.
To give you people a preview of how big is the apartment and how it looks…
There’s also a room in the apartment, I just forgot to take a screenshot. The free apartment is pretty big and it seems, there is no competition on the space since most of the traffic on Alady Island is just for the camping. You see, there are lots of free ways to enjoy SL. As for the free lindens, you can check the free lindens list here.

Mm..I’ve seen that before…very nice for new people!
That sound great but any catch?
Haryja,
I think the only catch is, there may be other people who will go inside the apartment since you cannot set permissions there.
Similiar to STA Dorms. They are free to take over, and your ownership expires if you are not often there. You cannot rez anything of your own in these sort of free rooms, but there is free furniture to use. There is no front doors, so its kind of public, even if your name is on it.
But it keeps rooms open for all to use and try.
They should really put -temporary- free place to live or hang out. It’s a good idea and everything, but it’s not like you can actually live there personally. Like you said, you can’t set permissions there.
Either way, it could be a nice spot for people who want some privacy.
I finally visited one of the free rent places today after getting a little annoyed at lack of privacy in a lot of areas.
I visited a different section than the one pointed out here, but it doesn’t seem like very many people know or use them (which is good for the people that do and want to).
People do still pop in on you sometimes, it seems, but it’s nice to feel like no one’s going to bother you as much.
No catch! If you leave the apartment and someone comes in when you are gone then it’s no longer yours. Ha ha ha!
Looking over this, it should be mentioned that certain groups within SL offer similiar free benefits just for being a member. I have checked out places that are in relationship to Samurai and Clans, and often when you join the group and participate, you are free room and board.
I also found that certain SL places like Hawaii have a few places you can claim for a short time as your own for free. If you keep visiting, you can keep the free place
