Giving will always be better than receiving

Yesterday, I did not post because of a little experiment. I want to see if this blog will get enough visitors and still make the same amount of cash that I get everyday even without an update.

Weirdly enough I even earned more

The experiment failed. The number of visitors dropped down 40% less. However, I received 4$ USD yesterday from the google ads and 3200L$ linden dollars from the affiliate programs. I’m wondering why this thing happened even if I did not update the blog.

New visitors looking for linden dollars

I think this is what happened, my loyal subscribers from the RSS and email most likely did not visit the site since there was no update. Because of that, the number of visitors new to the site stands out against the number of visitors "returning" to the site. Although, there’s no advantage in it. Only a decreasing number of pageviews.

My theory

There are 5 contest related posts in my front page and since people wants free lindens, (obviously because they visited my blog) that’s what they get. I still have the (five thousand linden dollars) and the weekly that gives 500L$ weekly and because I give a percentage of how much money I make or linden dollars I make online from blogging, this gives me a constant flow of traffic.

Simple logic:

I provide the list or places where you can make free linden dollars like camping or surveys, you visit, you click, you earn, you become happy and then return to make more money.

I provide contests, you then visit Chino Yray dot com, you join the contests, you get a chance to earn more money or lindens (or maybe win)… then you return and complete the cycle.

If Earl is beside me right now, he probably would say… "good karma".

If you liked this post, buy me a coffee. (Suggested: 3$ for a Caffè Mocha or 6$ if ever I have a date.)

:) Right on the dot.

Plus, the people who has visited your site and have blogs themselves link to you and so you get more visitors through them.

Another advantage of not posting daily is that your posts get longer exposure time on your first page, and can then have more opportunity to be seen by new readers.

On my blog about free lindens, I sometimes get remarks of readers saying I’m posting too much, so they can’t read everything.

On the other hand, posting about a short lived opportunity must be done same day…

Well, maybe you can post something about scan-read. You know, scan the article posted first, and then read on if it’s of interest, or go to the next blog article.

Or perhaps they can do it just by looking at your titles.

But let me tell you this, if your blog is all about making lindens, then you’ll have returning visitors and new ones will come. It’s just like what Chino has said… people want more (not exactly his words, but that’s the gist of it).

Reader just cannot bother to spend their time reading everything. They would prefer you to summarize the points. They are just being plain lazy

I think you’re onto a good formula for success and everybody wins. You generate new traffic with keep recurring traffic around with your recurring contests and your SL money-making info like about camping. Your contests are funded by part of the revenue you earn from Google and from people who join the affiliate programs. You tend to get alot of affiliates joining because you’ve built trust in your blog community by giving away free L$. Nice work Chino, you’re an inspiration to us all.

Let us not also forget the factor of eye-appeal. While there are advertisements, your blog is athestically pleasing. There are no flashing, obnoxious advertisements, and the information is presented simply. I will come back to a place if I am not irritated by the added-on content.

Christmas is in the air, and as I sit here determining the gifts for the season shopping online, I am thinking the same thing. Can’t wait to see the expressions when they open em up. Thats the best part.
