I love the teenage Harajuku-inspired Gothic Lolita Fashion and even have a dress from Japan in real life however it's not very well known here in the U.S. yet and the fashion is also extremetly pricey. My dress was at a reasonable price for about US $100.00! that is not counting the pretty $50.00 headdress and $20.00 socks and so on.. In second life the dresses go for only about 100 Linden, so even a struggling fashion fan like myself can gather a pretty good sized wardrobe : ) I'm sure this is the same for many people who especially dress their avatar different from their real-life selves. I've noticed that our characters usually have a similar hair-style to ourselves ^_^ funny how it turns out that way. There I learned the ways of using a sword or spear, and it had a great twist to SL. Up until then I saw some crazies shooting guns, but had no idea it could actually be fun in the environment.
