Suspension of my Wicked Blog Contests
If you’re a loyal reader and subscriber, you will notice that I haven’t posted a Wicked Blog Contest for March and April. But don’t get confused with the Subscriber Contest since it’s a different kind of contest.
It’s hard for me to do this post but I think everyone should know.
The Wicked Blog Contest is one of my best campaign and money maker for this blog but with the punishment Google gave me because of such contest. I really don’t want to do this since I am still on the top spot or Top 1 and Top 2 result in almost every search engine for the keywords “free lindens” and “free linden dollars”. However, because my PageRank is currently on 0 and not 4 like back then, the decline on Ad placements and reviews is starting to hurt me.
The Move
1. Suspension of Wicked Blog Contest
The contest is a direct violation to Google’s guidelines and thus, I have to stop it.
2. Paid Links or links without “nofollow” tag
I really don’t sell links but it seems like without me putting a “nofollow” tag on some of the links, they hit me on that. Thus, I placed a nofollow tag on outgoing links.
3. Links to Google
This one, I only found out yesterday. After some research on what caused a punishment on PageRank, it seems like this is one of the culprit. I have to block links directing to google and some files on my server using a robots.txt
4. Hope
Of course, I have to hope that Google will grant my request for reconsideration and hopefully return my PR4 for Chino Yray Dot Com.
If you liked this post, buy me a coffee. (Suggested: 3$ for a Caffè Mocha or 6$ if ever I have a date.)

Yeah! I learned about that here:

Wish you the best!
Good luck getting your PageRank back. It can make a big difference to the value of a blog even though the toolbar PageRank doesn’t seem to effect your actual position within searches. Chinoyray.com comes up high in any Linden-related search I’ve done.
I don’t understand the point about links to google though. Are these links a good or bad thing?
So far, in my case.. it is a bad thing.
Chino, care to elaborate?
My questions are:
1) Why block links going to Google? Which links or what kind of links?
2) What did you do with robots.txt that Google found it illegal? Many sites use robots.txt to block certain files from their servers so the sebots will only care about the index.php of the sites.
I’m really curious.
Too bad google’s not allowing more pages for their pageranks D: anymore
